Great art DOES create new desires in me. I have a peculiar urge to lick things that I find beautiful, thought provoking or otherwise praiseworthy, hence the name of this blog. I must warn you that I know very little, formally, about art. My hope is that this adventure into art appreciation will help me to articulate my tastes more eloquently. And maybe, if I do it well enough, it might introduce some other noobs to work that creates those same desires in them.

More about me, in case you are curious:

I am a PhD biochemist working in oncology in Houston, TX.

I love the art scene in Houston because it’s accessible and insanely prolific. It’s easy to participate in and support the local arts.

Collecting art is new hobby of mine, much to the detriment of my bank account.
